Based on my educational research in Japan, Italy, India, and the UK, as well as my experience in design strategy for venture companies and in the development of new businesses, products, and services for corporations, I value both theory (research) and practice (production).

Messages

In the 1977 film “Powers of Ten,” Charles and Ray Eames emphasized the differences in the world that can be seen by changing one’s perspective. By having diverse views, perspectives, and points of view, designers must be able to perceive multiple aspects of things and at the same time have the insight to discern the essence of things. And as time moves further, the challenges facing us humans living in the 21st to 22nd centuries are becoming increasingly hyper-complex and hyper-sophisticated. In order to create a new future, strategic designers are required to collaborate in teams with experts in other fields and to orchestrate projects from a strategic perspective. Let’s polish and nurture your ability to “surf,” tell a story, draw, and realize it together with your colleagues, equipped with a variety of knowledge, at the graduate school together!
