Project

Satsumasendai City in Kagoshima prefecture is promoting urban development under a circular city concept centered on the circular economy. I served as a committee member to steward the future vision of Satsumasendai City. In cooperation with Satsumasendai City and Re:Public Co., Ltd. we are conducting research and other activities to realize the Satsuma Future Commons concept and its facilities, which will be the core of a new circular economy in the region. As part of the Circular Design Challenge, we set up a collaboration with several faculty members of the Graduate School of Art and Design, and together with students, conducted site visits and workshops to generate new concepts and ideas, and develop prototypes. The results were exhibited at Bonus Track Gallery in Tokyo and Shibuya TSUTAYA (FY2021).
