SDG Design School -High School-University Cooperative SDGs Education Program

The Kyushu University SDGs Design School is part of the educational activities conducted by the SDGs Design Unit of the Graduate School of Art and Design, Kyushu University, established in 2018. Aimed at a variety of people from children to adults, the school provides creativity education programs at local schools and community centers with the aim of contributing to the SDGS in the area of design.
One specific project of the SDGs Design School is a high school-university collaborative S D Gs education program with Fukusho High School, starting in 2019 with the first 17 students and ending in 2021 with over 300 students participating. In order to create a proactive and active educational program with appropriate improvements for this era, we will utilize the results of design thinking that has been conducted at Kyushu University in many cases, and together with the teachers of Fukusho High School, we will study how to apply design thinking to the SDGs educational site at the high school, and create an easy-to-understand visualization We are developing tools and challenging more teachers to derive practical and useful design requirements and foster students’ independence and creativity.
